There are three boarding houses which are very cosy and friendly, all run by Housemistresses and assistants.  Years 7-10 are in Markham, Years 11 and 12 in Knatchbull and Year 13 have their own house, Loveday.  You are welcome to come and see them any time by clicking here

What is boarding life like and what are the options?

Boarding is very busy at St George’s with lots of extra-curricular activities on offer including sport, the arts and a variety of clubs.  Every weekend there is a trip out and an activity in house and Saturday evenings are normally film nights in the boarding common rooms with the other girls.   We organise socials with local boys' schools including Eton, Winchester, Harrow and Papplewick and exeats are held once every half term.   You have the option to board between 4-7 nights a week depending on what is most suitable for your family.  Often day girls whose parents are hoping to help them with their study or to apply for university will convert to boarding as they get older.  However there are lots of girls boarding from 11 years old and it is a really thriving and popular community.  To find out more about boarding, please click here

How does St George’s support overseas applications?
