Taster days are an excellent opportunity to forge new friendships and to ease transition into a new school. Taster days start at 9.00am until 4.15pm and pupils considering boarding can request to stay overnight. Every girl coming for a taster day will be allocated a guide for the day that will look after her, answer questions, guide her between lessons and introduce her to other girls in the year group.
Every pupil registered for First Year (Year 7) entry will be invited to our 'Future Georgian' Taster Day in the September preceding their year of entry. Not only does this give your daughter an opportunity to experience the teaching and lessons here at St George’s, it also provides an opportunity to meet other girls who will be in your daughter’s year group and to start making friends.
Following registration, girls joining all other year groups may come for a taster day at any time.
Please contact the admissions department to arrange a taster day by sending us an enquiry.
St George’s holds a series of optional Educational Days once a term. These aim to give your daughter a chance to supplement her learning with some extension work. Pupils on our database and from our local feeder schools are invited by email to come and join us for example to a Science, Art, English or IT day when they are in Years 5, 6 and 7.
These informal days are designed to be fun and to give the girls lots to think about, to make some new friends and to see the teaching in action at St George’s.
These days are normally built around a theme and although are complementary to the curriculum in that they build on the foundations of reading, writing, mathematical concepts or visual representation, they are designed to foster an interest in a subject above that taught on a day to day basis.
The next education workshop will be run by the Religious Studies Department on Saturday 13 October from 09.45 - 14.00. To book a place for your daughter, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
