Careers Guidance in the 5th Year
Most of the 5th year take a 3-hour bank of psychometric tests, together with an associated interest questionnaire run by ISCO. The resulting report and follow-up interview give valuable pointers to career aptitudes and help with A-level choices.
All girls are given information on A-levels by staff and sixth-formers, as well as further guidance on choosing A-levels which fulfil the specific requirements of a chosen Higher Education course such as medicine, or for those whose future paths is less clear. This keeps open as many options as possible, while exploiting girls' strengths.
Girls who will be entering St George's Sixth Form have the first of a series of individual consultations which will continue throughout the next two years to guide them towards university entrance.
