Personal and Social Education and Citizenship

All girls in the 1st to 5th years have a period of Personal and Social Education and Citizenship (PSEC) once a week. This is usually taught by their housemistress.

Stress and suicide
5th year Politics and how Parliament works
Managing emotions: grief, death, divorce, adoption
Getting a job: letters of application, curriculum vitae, interviews, work experience

Throughout the course there is a parallel tutorial programme in which the emphasis is on study skills appropriate to the age group, recording progress, achievements and self-evaluation. Decision-making skills taught in the 3rd and 5th years help with subject choices.
