Geography is a diverse, dynamic and relevant subject in a constantly changing world. As a subject it is unique in bridging the social and natural sciences. The current AS-level and A-level syllabus gives students the opportunity to obtain a sound understanding of the physical and human processes operating in a variety of environments.

AS A2
Human Geography Geographical Skills

The students will study 3 out of 4 units. The units are Managing Urban Change, Managing Rural Change and the Growth of Tourism.

This paper is based on the fieldwork carried out in June of L6 and the analysis and evaluation of the data collected.
Physical Geography Global Issues

The students will study 3 out of 4 units. The units are Coastal Environments, River Environments, Hot Environments and Cold Environments.

The students will study 3 units out of: Earth Hazards; Ecosystems Under Threat; Climatic Hazards; Population and Resources; Globalisation and Development and Inequalities.


Anyone intending to study for a Geography degree will discover that this provides graduates who are attractive to employers, and a very high percentage will find a job soon after graduating.
