On Friday 25th April the Chapel Choir, directed by Mr Hillier, spent a long day recording a new CD of Christmas Music in the spectacular setting of Douai Abbey between Reading and Newbury.  The Abbey is still a working monastery and the hospitality and kindness of the monks was extremely kind and generous.  It was a rewarding day but recording is always hard work and all the musicians were exhausted by the time we arrived back at school at 8.00 pm.  Many thanks to John Challenger, the Organ Scholar of St George’s Chapel Windsor, who played the organ, to the team of men who joined the choir for some items and to all the girls for their stunning singing.  Full details of the CD will be available next term.
