CHARITIES

St George's takes very seriously the need to think about others outside the school community and to try to help the less fortunate in various practical ways.

Each form chooses a form charity to support each year and raises money through different fund-raising schemes. Recently this has included cake and sweet stalls, games, cleaning staff cars and providing refreshments at school functions, and it is sometimes tied in with a chapel assembly.

Guest speakers talk to the school about their work. Some chapel collections on Sundays go to specific charities and we take collections in school throughout the year for various causes. It is important that giving to charity remains separate from the fund raising that some girls do for their own expeditions and sports tours.
