Financial Information
Registration
A non-returnable fee is charged when a girl is registered with the school. This is currently £100 for UK residents and £150 for non-UK residents.
Acceptance deposit
A deposit is payable when the offer of a place at the school is accepted. This is currently £1,000 for a day pupil, £1,800. An offer of a boarding place is made for the duration of the girl's time in school. Normally the balance of the deposit is returned after deduction of extras in the girl's final term. The deposit will be retained, should the accepted place not be taken up.
Basic fees
As at 1st September 2011 the fees are:
Boarding fees per term: £9,460
Day fees per term: £6,150
Extra Expenses
General text books and normal stationery requirements, along with Personal Accident Insurance, are included in the fees, but examination fees and text books which are annotated by a pupil for her own use are extra charges in the bill.
Other additional expenses will be at the discretion of the parents. These include such items as music lessons, English as a Foreign Language, specific learning tuition, trips to concerts or the theatre, outdoor expeditions, and societies and clubs. Information on costs is available from the Bursar.
Occasional Boarding
Day girls may board on an occasional basis at a charge of £55 per night, when there is spare accommodation available in school. The school offers a boarding voucher scheme for day girls, enabling them to experience one free night of boarding per term (subject to availability).
Payment
School fees are payable in advance by the first day of each term. A full term's notice is required before the removal of a pupil from the school, otherwise a full term's fees will be payable in lieu of notice.
Advance payment of fees
The school operates a scheme which gives a tax-free saving to those who pay in advance towards their daughter's fees. We can provide estimates of either the sum required to cover a known amount of fees, or calculate the amount of fees which would be provided by depositing a given sum.
Childcare Vouchers
Childcare vouchers can be used towards the boarding component of a girl's school fees until the 1st September following her 15th birthday.
Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are awarded for academic merit. These awards will be either for the period up to a pupil's GCSE examinations or for the Sixth Form. All scholarships awards will be based on tuition fees, irrespective of whether the pupil is a boarder or day girl. Scholarships are offered to girls who obtain the top places in Common Entrance. Music and Art Scholarships are also available in the First Year. Music, Art, Drama and Sport are available at 13+.
Academic Sixth Form Scholarships are applied for early in the autumn term of the Fifth Year. Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships are also available.
Means-tested bursaries are available to support girls whose parents are not able to afford the fees in whole, or part, subject to availability of funds. For details, please write to the Bursar.
Optional insurance
Various insurance schemes are available, including School Fees Protection, Private Medical Insurance, Dental Emergency and Accident Insurance. The school cannot take responsibility for pupils' personal possessions. Details of these insurances are available from the Bursar.
