Life in Sixth Form
Lower Sixth students must adapt quickly to the demands of AS, both as a foundation for A-level success and because AS grades, like GCSE grades, are entered on university applications and affect the offers received. Girls may also choose to take the AQA Baccalaureate and/or Extended Project as additional qualifications.
Georgians enjoy examination success as well as pursuing a wide range of extra-curricular and social activities. Our programme is designed to develop each girl's strengths and to equip her with the confidence, qualifications and transferable skills needed for the future. We encourage hard work in a well-supported environment and parents are a vital part of that structure. If we work together, the girls feel secure and flourish; good communication and mutual trust will enable us to resolve any problems. We are all working towards the same goals. Although Sixth Form is new to the girls and to many parents, the Sixth Form team is very experienced and the tutoring structure is designed to develop a close and supportive relationship over the two years.
If your daughter is joining St George's Sixth Form, please ensure that you complete the parental permissions form and return it to the school office before the start of term.
