Introduction to Subjects

We offer a broad and varied curriculum, and our small class sizes enable our teaching to be tailored to suit individual needs and talents so that each girl is given the opportunity to develop her own style of work and to reach for personal excellence in her studies. Some girls may be offered opportunities for extension through the Gifted and Talented programme, whilst others may benefit from attending the unique Learning Skills sessions, in which girls discover their learning preferences. Academic results at St Georges are high as a consequence of this flexible approach to teaching.

The school day consists of ten teaching periods of 35 minutes. Some subjects are taught in double periods of 1 hour 10 minutes. The curriculum up to GCSE broadly follows the National Curriculum.
