Aims and Ethos

The school aims to encourage the individual development of each pupil, focusing on her strengths and abilities to produce the most appropriate educational profile for her. Great importance is placed not only on academic excellence, but also on moral and spiritual welfare. Each girl is given increasing freedom and responsibilities as she progresses through the school to enable growth of character and the development of values, inner resources which will prepare her to make the most of life.

 The school's stated charitable objectives are:

• to promote the cause of education
• to develop St George's, including the goodwill of the school
• to provide training and instruction of pupils in learning and knowledge, in citizenship and, on the basis of Christian principles, to provide spiritual, moral, mental and physical training.
