Personal, social, health and economic education helps to equip every girl to leave St George’s as a capable, confident and connected young woman.
The programme is underpinned by Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural aims and is designed to support the girls’ wider education and personal development.
The programme is run for all our Year 7 - Year 11 in timetabled weekly classes. The programme is delivered by specialist teachers in PSHE and also teachers with specific training in relevant areas, such as Information Communication Technology, Science, Religious Studies, Health and Wellbeing and Careers Management. Learning is supported by a series of workshops and lectures delivered by outside agencies, that cover pupil wellbeing and add an important extra dimension to their education.
Our PSHE programme aims to develop each girl's understanding of herself, as an individual and in relation to others, helping them to reach their full potential both at school and in their future lives. The programme explores contemporary issues, the role of the individual in society and nurtures respect for the different nationalities, religions and cultures of others. It is a wonderful journey of self discovery and gives girls all the skills to reflect on issues, contribute to discussions and understand issues relating to their own protection.
