This term, our Lower Sixth pupils have brought exceptional energy, imagination and entrepreneurial spirit to the annual Young Tycoons project. Working in small teams, the girls were challenged to take a business idea from concept to customer, developing product designs, creating budgets, building marketing campaigns, making sales and finally evaluating their outcomes.
Each team approached the brief with impressive creativity. During the fundraising stage, some pupils even persuaded members of staff to volunteer for a wet sponge challenge to help raise their start-up capital, a moment that certainly captured the entrepreneurial spirit of the programme! Whilst another team noticed that there was a good footfall of hungry primary aged children at the swimming pool in the afternoons so they got a pop up cake stall down there quickly to capture trade!
Others showcased their flair through thoughtful, professionally designed marketing materials. One team, for example, produced a beautifully crafted pamphlet to accompany their sales, highlighting not only their product but also the strategic thinking behind their brand identity.

Across the board, the teams demonstrated their ability to communicate a clear message, spot opportunities, build a visual identity and engage their audience. Their work is a wonderful example of the talent emerging through the Tycoon Enterprise programme.
The Tycoons have been popping up at a variety of locations this term, from school events to Christmas fairs in the local community, meeting customers and gaining real-life experience in a sales environment.
Their events have been resounding successes, with pupils across the year group showing confidence, teamwork and strong commercial awareness. From customer service to creative problem-solving, the girls embraced every aspect of the enterprise process, and their achievements have been truly inspiring to watch.
The Young Tycoons project continues to be a highlight of Sixth Form life, giving pupils a taste of real-world entrepreneurship while nurturing transferable skills that will serve them long beyond their time at St George’s.

Outstanding National Success for St George’s Tycoon Teams
We are thrilled to announce that all four of our Tycoon Enterprise companies are currently topping the National Leaderboard. Out of the hundreds of student companies that enter the competition each year, St George’s teams occupy four of the top ten positions in the country, with REVERB and COZI sitting proudly in 1st and 2nd place, and SNUG and MOONI currently placed in the top six.
This is an outstanding achievement for our young entrepreneurs and a testament to the creativity, drive and enterprise that thrive at St George’s.
The leaderboard will continue to shift until the autumn trading window closes on 19th January, when results are finalised. It is also worth noting that there are three Tycoon sessions each academic year; autumn, spring and summer, with new schools entering at each stage, meaning positions can continue to change as additional trading periods open.
As of 4 December 2025, all four St George’s companies remain in the national top ten, with further funds raised that have not yet been entered into the system.
Whatever the final standings, the girls’ achievements this term have been exceptional, and we could not be more proud of their ambition and hard work.
