When you enter our boarding houses, you will discover a vibrant and friendly atmosphere where girls can relax in a cosy, home-from-home environment. It feels very much like walking into a family home. The girls are encouraged to decorate their bedrooms and choose the friends that they would like to share with. Our common rooms provide comfortable communal spaces where girls enjoy getting together to chat and relax with their friends.
For many families working hours, boarding offers an ideal solution. Boarders enjoy a fantastic range of co-curricular and sporting activities after school and love being surrounded by their friends. For younger girls, prep is taken in a communal environment with specialist help available from teachers. Our caring boarding team are always on hand to talk with the girls and to ensure they feel safe, happy and supported at all times.
For older girls, as prep increases, being able to stay at school and study rather than travelling home every day is an attractive option and helps with their work. For many girls it is also the camaraderie, shared experiences, deep friendships and development of their confidence and independence that makes boarding at St George’s so special.
