Marketing Officer in Residence

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Officer in Residence to join our Marketing Team; in addition, the successful candidate will undertake some boarding duties, providing support to pupils within the boarding community.

This is a Fixed Term Contract in the first instance from August 2022 to August 2023 and is a 52 weeks per year role, working 28 hours per week in the Marketing Department, with hours to be worked between 08:30 - 17:00 on four days per week (between Monday and Friday), plus one day working in the boarding community at the weekend (except on Exeat weekends when the school is closed and during School holidays). There will also be a requirement to work occasional evenings or weekends to support School and Admissions related events for which time off in lieu will be given. The exact pattern will be agreed to suit the School and the successful candidate.

A self-contained one-bedroom flat within one of the School’s boarding houses is provided throughout the period of employment, inclusive of all bills. Because this is a girls’ senior school and all accommodation is within the girls’ boarding houses, we are required to appoint a female member of staff for this role. Meals are provided free of charge on each working day in term time (when the kitchen is open).

Director in Residence

Required for September 2022

Due to an internal promotion, we now have a vacancy for a Director in Residence from September 2022.

Reporting to the Deputy Head (Pastoral), the Director in Residence provides academic and pastoral support to pupils within the boarding community; working with Housemistresses to provide supervision of boarders during weekends and assisting the Director of Drama.

Part-time Music Tutor (Piano)

Required for September 2022

We require a flexible and adaptable Tutor of Piano for the start of the new term in September 2022 to develop musical and technical skills at a level appropriate to the age and ability of the pupils.

Theatre Technician and Designer

Required to start as soon as possible.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Theatre Technician and Designer who will be responsible for the operation of the School’s Sue Cormack Hall and its Drama Department spaces. 

The School has an outstanding reputation for its drama productions and the Theatre Technician and Designer is pivotal to this. Our 350-seat theatre is purpose built and enjoys all of the features that are required for delivering high quality productions.

Head Chef

Required to start as soon as possible.

St George's is currently looking for a Head Chef to join and lead our catering team.

The ideal candidate should be a dynamic, talented and proven Head Chef or a highly experienced Sous Chef looking for their first role as Head Chef.

The successful candidate will be leading a team of experienced chefs, serving fresh, seasonal produce using modern techniques, whilst always looking for ways of developing the food on offer. They will be expected to have excellent presentation, communication and people management skills and demonstrate a real passion for food.

General Domestic Assistant (Weekends)

Required to start as soon as possible.

A part-time General Domestic Assistant to provide efficient and effective support to the School’s catering team on each Saturday and Sunday that the boarders are in School.

The core hours of work are:

7.00am - 3.00pm each Saturday that the Boarders are in School and

12.00pm - 8.00pm each Sunday that the Boarders are in School.

The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible in their approach as the working hours may vary slightly due to the School calendar and events. There will be a requirement to work during the Summer Let and some additional hours may be available in other School holiday periods. 

There will be a requirement to work occasional evenings and extended weekend hours to support the business needs of the School.

School Minibus Drivers

We have a number of exciting term time only opportunities to join our caring team of drivers at St George's School in Ascot. We are currently looking for experienced drivers to cover various routes as detailed below:

Monday to Friday evening only driver (10-15 hours per week) - normal hours Monday to Thursday 6.00pm - 8.00pm (approx.) and Friday 3.30pm - 6.00pm (approx.).

London (Friday) 3.30pm - 8.00pm (approx.)

You will need to have a clean driving licence (with D1 Category), be aged 21 and over and have a minimum of two years driving experience.
