A Community That Knows Every Pupil

From everyday guidance and encouragement to specialist healthcare and wellbeing services, every pupil is cared for as an individual by a team who truly knows your child.  In 2019, we were awarded the Mental Health Kitemark for Boarding Schools and we continue to build on the good practice and principles that gained us the award.

Individual Support

Because of our close-knit community, every pupil is known as an individual. Staff take the time to understand each pupil's strengths, aspirations and the support they needs to flourish.

Time to Pause

We recognise the importance of balance and creating space for pupils to pause, reflect and recharge. Our weekly Wellness Walks, led by our Head and her PAWS Wellbeing Dog, Hebe, provide pupils with the opportunity to enjoy time outdoors, connect with others and support their wellbeing.

Emotional Wellbeing & Pastoral Support

Pupils have access to experienced, independent school counsellors who are separate from the school's teaching staff. This provides a confidential, impartial space where pupils can talk openly about any personal or emotional concerns, knowing they will be listened to with care and understanding.

Peer Support

Many of our Sixth Form pupils volunteer as Peer Support Mentors, offering a friendly and approachable source of support for younger pupils across the school. Trained by our school counsellor and Deputy Head (Pastoral), they develop valuable skills in active listening, confidentiality, appropriate boundaries and recognising when to seek further support. Alongside this peer-led initiative, all pupils have access to a range of trusted mental health and wellbeing resources to help them navigate the challenges of school life and beyond.

Pupils treat each other with kindness and respect and are courteous towards staff.
