Whether pupils are exploring their faith or simply looking for someone to talk to, our Chaplain is here for every member of the St George's community. While rooted in our Christian foundation, our Chaplaincy welcomes pupils of all faiths and none, providing a space for reflection, conversation and support.
Meet Our Chaplain
The Reverend Sami Watts is the school chaplain and has an open door policy for any pupil who may wish to see her. She is also keen to help those of other religious traditions who want to explore and develop their faith. The Chapel, located at the heart of the school, is open for pupils to use at any time and we provide opportunities for prayer and reflection.
Weekly Chapel Services
All girls attend a weekly service at our on-site Chapel, which is a chance for the whole school community to come together with music provided by our Chapel Choir.
Chapel Choir
Our Chapel Choir is of an exceptionally high standard, with membership awarded by audition. Recognisable by their distinctive red cloaks, the choir has sung for members of the Royal Family. They have toured internationally to Salzburg and Vienna and regularly perform at prestigious concerts, weddings and services, including events for the Law Society in London, Eton College, Ascot Racecourse and the Windsor Horse Show.
Guest speakers
Alongside our regular Chapel services, we welcome guest speakers from a range of faiths and worldviews. These visits encourage pupils to explore different perspectives, deepen their understanding of others and engage in thoughtful discussion.
Seasonal celebrations
Throughout the year, the Chapel marks key moments in the Christian calendar with a variety of services and celebrations. Worship ranges from traditional Choral Communion to more informal Morning Worship, offering pupils opportunities for reflection in different settings. Each term, the Chapel Choir leads two or three Sunday evening services featuring readings, music and prayers. During the festive season, the school community also comes together for our much-loved Christmas Carol Service, held in Windsor.
Everyone is welcome
Our Chaplaincy is open to every pupil, regardless of their faith or beliefs. Whether seeking a quiet space for reflection, someone to talk to, or an opportunity to explore spiritual questions, every member of our community is welcomed with kindness, compassion and respect.
For pupils wishing to deepen their Christian faith, preparation for Anglican Confirmation is available from Year 9 onwards. The Chaplain leads confirmation sessions throughout the year, culminating in a special Confirmation Service celebrated at the school with the Bishop. Alongside this, the Chaplain also runs a variety of after-school clubs and activities, offering further opportunities for friendship, reflection and personal growth.
