Annabel was among the 2019 leaver’s cohort and went on to UWE Bristol to study for a degree in Primary Education. With a strong passion for helping people and making a difference to their lives, she always knew that teaching was the career for her. One of her key inspirations was her then biology teacher, Mr Rhoades, who had a positive impact on her experience at the School. She was attracted to the UWE course because it combined school placements in a variety of schools with her university studies.
Annabel always wanted to teach in primary education, especially Key Stage 2 (KS2) children. Still living in Bristol, she is a Teaching Assistant in a Year 6 class as well as teaching Learning Assistant Groups in Maths and English. Whilst working to gain more experience in the classroom, Annabel has her sights set on securing a role as a KS2 teacher.
Outside of the classroom Annabel enjoys life in Bristol, one of the greenest cities in the UK, a location that she enjoyed so much during her university years she decided to make it home. She enjoys reading, cycling, photography, hanging out with friends and travelling
