Co-curricular Activities

St George’s offers an enviable range of co-curricular clubs and activities as an essential part of our all-round education.

We encourage the girls to get involved with as much as they can, learn new capabilities and take on challenges, all of which help to develop their talents and confidence. We hold Club fairs at the beginning of term where girls can sign up for clubs and activities.

Evening Clubs and activities are part of school life. They take place every day from 16:15 until 17:15 with some changing from term to term whilst others run all year round. In the autumn and spring, sports include netball and lacrosse, with tennis, rounders and athletics taking place in the summer. The girls can also choose football, Amnesty International, Literature on Film and a range of other activities including contemporary, tap, acro and ballet lessons provided onsite by the Natalie Vinson School of Dance.

We encourage all pupils to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme (DofE). The award supports young people in trying a range of different activities they may not previously have experienced. The girls are required to complete a physical, skills and volunteering section and undertake an assessed expedition which also entails a pre-expedition practice and training element.
